This month's issue of Stereophile unleashes another in a long list of sparkling reviews for the IKON 6 (see the full collection at www.dali-usa.com).
Robert J. Reina, one of Stereophile's most respected reviewers, expressed unbridled delight at the stellar performance of the IKON 6's. Some quotes:
"I was immediately captivated by the IKON 6's rich, detailed, holographic presentation of just about every vocal CD I played".
"The IKON 6's unusual tweeter array reproduced detailed and extended high frequencies with no touch of bite or harshness."
"Ray Brown's bass solos on Sonny Rollins' Way Out West were completely uncolored in the middle and upper regions of his instrument's range"
"I was also impressed with the IKON 6's soundstaging. Playing well-recorded classical works, the speakers "disappeared"
The delicate, low-level percussion textures were easy to discern, with appropriate dynamic contrasts. My notes: "The stage!!!"
"Orchestra works showed off the IKON 6's high-level dynamic capabilities. The loudest portions of Antal Dorati's The Firebird breathed like a live performance."
Summing Up:
"In the IKON 6, DALI has produced a visually attractive loudspeaker that has very few shortcomings and is a captivating performer over a wide range of musical material. At $1595/pair, the IKON is a superb value - I recommend it to anyone considering buying a floorstanding speaker for under $2,000/pair. Well done, DALI. I look forward to hearing more of your designs." - Robert J. Reina, Stereophile, July 2006

In the March issue of the UK-based "Hi-Fi News" the IKON 6 was in a shoot-out against some respected names loudspeaker industry: Acoustic Energy Aelite Three, Monitor Audio RS8 and Triangle Antal Esw. The IKON 6 was awarded the "Best Buy" of the bunch.

Former Hi-Fi News chief-editor and renowned reviewer Steve Harris wrote: " It´s an excellent all-rounder, it´s unfussy about room positioning and proves to be endlessly listenable."
"...the IKON 6 just feels more like a real music loudspeaker. It has dynamics and detail, but also the subtle textures, overall coherence and stereo staging ability that audiophiles want..."
To finish the job, he comments on the vinyl finish of the IKON 6 "... a finish that´s indistinguishable from real wood." We couldn't have said it better - thank you Steve!
Take full advantage of this ammo, and other accolades the IKON series has recently received, including:

Awarded "Best Stereo Speaker 2005" by What Hi-Fi

Awarded "Editor´s Choice" and the "Stereo Silver Medal 2005" by Hi-Fi Choice

Awarded the "HIGHLIGHT" award by Stereoplay
Awarded 5 stars by Polish Audio Video Magasine

Awarded "Best Stereo Speaker 2005 under $3000"
by the Australian Magazine "Smarthouse"

The parade of wonderful reviews for IKON continues with a full 5.1 system review in the just-released July/August issue of The Perfect Vision.
Barry Willis titled the review: "Exotic, hybrid technologies at down-to-earth prices".
Some excerpts:
"IKON speakers employ DALI’s signature hybrid tweeter modules and proprietary wood pulp/paper fiber woofers, with front-ported speakers offering extraordinary performance at a very accessible price."
The Drivers:
"DALI’s hybrid tweeters and woodpulp woofers are a match made in heaven. Combining a 1-inch dome tweeter and small ribbon super-tweeter in close proximity, the hybrid tweeter module gives exceptionally smooth, extended high-frequency response. The woofers impart warmth without sacrificing dynamics or clarity."
The Sound:
"The sonic result—open and airy treble, intimate but startling midrange clarity, effortless dynamics, good bass punch, and with the IKON Sub, wallshaking power. As a stand-alone system the IKON 6 offers impressive bass performance—amazingly deep for a loudspeaker its size, with a smooth low-end rolloff that implies bigger bass capabilitythan the speaker really has. "
Final Summary:
"The IKON system is excellent by any measure, but at under $4000 total is an outrageous bargain."

This review in "The Perfect Vision" combined with the just-released excellent "Stereophile" review on IKON 6, places IKON in a strong market position. The next issue of "The Absolute Sound" will also include an IKON 6 review, for a combined 3 major IKON reviews in 2 months.
In addition, IKON has received a slew of over-the-top reviews and "Speaker of the Year" awards in British and German magazines (see DALI's "Dealer Log-In" section for downloads).

"It's hard to believe you can get so much loudspeaker for so little money"
That's the conclusion of the German magazine "Heimkino" (which means "Home Cinema") in a shoot-out review pitting DALI's IKON Phantom in-wall speakers, against similarly priced competition from:
B&W
Keff
Elac
Speakercraft
Jamo
The attached file contains the review, in German. As you can see from the graphic proclaiming "Testseiger", the IKON Phantom was the "Test Winner". (in German reviews, the lowest number designates the highest performer).
This review promises to be the first of many extolling the stellar performance of IKON Phantoms at the "mass market" price of $495 - retail.
In our view, the IKON Phantom deliver surprising "bang for the buck", and could be the most important product produced by DALI for the US market.
